This incredible shot of eight Kookamungas hidden in plain sight in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, CA leads us to believe that there are many Kookamungas residing in the High Deserts of California.
Researchers know that Kookamungas can multiply in digital and drawn realms, however in physical spaces it has yet to be seen. It is extremely rare to see more than three Kookamungas at a time and because of this, to capture eight (or what we see as eight) is thrilling! Mildly camoflauged, they raise their arms in unison, in a display of perhaps defense, worship, or arbitrary action.
